tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6680939874528319542.post5510047943420079520..comments2016-12-31T15:06:23.766-08:00Comments on JUMMIES: Reproducing the famous "Steamed Burger" from Ted's RestaurantHerbyNhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12046653940210099947noreply@blogger.comBlogger2125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6680939874528319542.post-10596509741434173212011-01-18T13:26:56.578-08:002011-01-18T13:26:56.578-08:00i havta say that the ted's mild cheddar is ex...i havta say that the ted's mild cheddar is extremely flavorful. it is also super delicious. i only get the hot cheese sandwich because i don't eat meat and it is amazing. sharp cheddar doesn't have the right consistency as the milder cheddar.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6680939874528319542.post-40017932169666692162009-10-06T05:12:18.481-07:002009-10-06T05:12:18.481-07:00i just finished eating a steamed burger for the fi...i just finished eating a steamed burger for the first time, and it was awesome. super easy to make too, i used a slightly different method than yours and did it in my rice cooker. <br /><br />i took 4 oz. of 80/20 ground beef and made it into a burger, then froze it.<br /><br />when the meat was fully frozen, i set up the rice cooker on steam mode and preheated it. <br /><br />once it was fully steaming i simply put the frozen burger on the steam tray, closed the top, and steamed for 25 minutes.<br /><br />when i opened the rice cooker i saw that it had stayed together perfectly as a burger. i had to scrape off some of the fat that had steamed out of it, but that was it. <br /><br />i cut it open to see if it needed more time and it had the color of being well done, so i figured it was cooked enough.<br /><br />it seemed like all of the fat melted out of it too. there were little air pockets inside the burger from where the fat had been. <br /><br />i had toasted a roll and melted a slice of cheese onto the top half, so i put the burger on it.<br /><br />when i bit in, it was delicious. the meat was well cooked, but it was still soft and juicy. i would definitely recommend trying it.<br /><br />i didnt put anything but meat, cheese, and bread this time, but im making another one right now so ill prolly have that one with some toppings like i usually do.<br /><br />i usually grill, but i just moved into an apt, and can only fry them in a pan which i dont like the taste of, i tried a george forman but i didnt like that either. so this is a great alternative. i may try it with a few other cuts of meat too, ive heard you can do it with ribs too.Tommynoreply@blogger.com
